I am trying to understand the solubility mechanism of UV filters, what are the bonds form and break for the UV filters to be soluble.

    I have two esters
    1. triethylhexanoin
    2. Medium chain triglyceride
    UV filter: Tinosorb S
Both the esters have the same number of ester bonds but why do they give different solubility properties?
Do steric hindrance play a role?
