    Making Cosmetics has Benzylalcohol-DHA listed with a maximum formulating temperature of 40oC. I find that strange because a hot summer day can be higher than 40oC. I wasn’t able to confirm this anywhere else. Does anybody know whether this is correct?

    Indications for use of e.g. quite similar Euxyl K 903 from S & M answers both your questions;

    “When using euxyl® K 903 prolonged heating periods (max. 4
    hours) > 80 °C should be avoided.
    It is advantageous to add euxyl® K 903 in the cooling phase e.g.
    with the fragrance (t < 40 °C). “
