if I want to use rose water in my body butter, can I used Benzoic acid or Benzyl alcohol as my preservative? I’d like to use a mild effective preservative.

GEOGARD 221 is ECOCERT approved, it’s a mixture of dehydroacetic acid and benzyl alcohol.

And there it starts with “mild”: According to my books, DHA is not mild but parabens are ;) .
It depends also on pH (regarding irritation potential and which preservatives can be used).
