Is this too many conditioning agents for a hair mask formulation for textured hair?

    Ice Hair Restore: 7%
    BTMS-50: 3%
    centrimonium chloride: 3%

    Hi,

when you’re using Trade names, please include INCI names. So we don’t have to google it.
Ice Hair Restore - Cetearyl alcohol (35%), behentrimonium chloride (35%), polyquaternium 37 (30)%.

In my opinion, it is way too many conditioning agents. Ice Hair Restore would be enough. But there would be someone more experienced with hair care products, so wait for more opinions. :)

@Paprik - I agree.  There is no point in including Cetrimonium Chloride, BTMS and behentrimonium chloride. They will all just compete with each other and most will wash down the drain.

@Perry and @Paprik I’ve changed the formula and reduced the behentrimonium chloride. I’ve achieved the softness of hair and slip. Do you suggest I reduce the conditioning agents more? Here is the water and oil phases.

    water: qs
    cetrimonium chloride: 3%

    Propanediol 1,3: 4%
    Guar hydrox. Chloride: .5%
    BTMS-50: 4%
    Cetearyl Alcohol:5%
    Caprylic Triglyceride: 5%
    Sunflower oil:5%
    Babassu oil:2%
    Cocoa butter: .5%

If you’ve achieved what you wanted, I don’t think you need to make any more changes.  Unless you want the formula to be less expensive.

@Perry thank you! Could I get the same effect and make it cheaper if I reduce the conditioning agents?

Maybe. You just have to test it.

When i was using cationic guar in Shampoo at more than %0.3, the feeling was not good.
