Hello, does anyone can help me with reverse/inverse micellar solution? I am trying to blend 0,1% exozome ( Algaktiv Exometics G) with oil phase and a surfactant (HLB 3.5). I was searching on the internet anf I found that my formulation it is not a W/O microemultion, emultion is a inverse micellar solution. Does anyone know something about it? Are there rules for the properties of the oils? How much volatile oil, light oil, polar oil, mediu polar oil, non polar oil, natural oil, parfume, to assure the stability of the micelle and also floating of oils, bleeding parfume? thank you

Not familiar with the ingredient, but apparently is water soluble, so you should follow manufacturer’s guidance.

Why an invert/reverse micellar solution though (I didn’t come across a cosmetic formulation using this approach)?

well, i recieved a task from a cistomer to make a SPA line wioth exosomes and she wants body oil with exosome, so I needed to incorporate 0,1% exozome in 99,9 oil ( just for maketing). doing a lot of research i remebered the pseudophase diagram for oil water and surfactants and I found out that what I am about to elaborate it is called inverse micellar emultions and this one brings nothing but problems

You could use ARLACEL 1689 (Sorbitan Oleate, Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate). It does allow the incorporation of a small amount of water soluble ingredients in anhydrous products. Being such a small amount of “water” to solubilize, it shouldn’t require too much emulsifier.

thank you, already try it, works wery well but I was wondering about the type of oils ( the type of oils that will match the high amount of fragrances and also the ratio between them) . I cannot find much information about interactions between fragrances and oils. 🙁
