  • Ingredient(s) to slow setting/evaporation in Hydrous Product

    Hello,

I am developing a hydrous hair clay product. My current formula works, but sets/tackifies rather quickly once the product is emulsified in ones palms and added to the hair.

Quick rundown on my ingredients. I can post a complete recipe if needed as I don’t have it at my office where I am currently.

    Water
    kaolin clay
    peg-8 beeswax
    castor oil
    jojoba oil
    shea butter
    Polysorbate-20
    Peg-40 HCO
    glycol
    pvp 1.5%
    Cyclomethicone/dimethicone
    fragrance
    preservative

My question, what can possibly be added to slow the absorption/setting to allow longer open time for styling/combing without effecting the holding properties?

    Thank you for your time.
