Industrial Pumps for Very Thick Formulas?
Could anyone make some suggestions on a cost-effective industrial pump for very thick formulas? This would be for transferring from the mixing container to a drum or filling line. I have seen some drum pumps for very thick (up to 100,000 cps) but they are close to $6000! Maybe a diaphragm pump? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you!

you don’t need a pump,you need a dispensing drum - if you can manufacture in a drum. Otherwise, 6k doesn’t seem too far out of line. Have you looked into leaing?

We pump some very thick creams and gels using a larger double diaphragm. It is a Yamada NDP pump, I believe 1 1/2 inch. It pumps a little slow on the really thick stuff but it does work. You have to be careful with the bends in the pipe or hose. Too tight a bend really slows things down.
You can buy the plastic versions probablly for under $1500 on ebay. We got ours for about $800. The plastic ones are quite durable.
