  • How to increase Hair styling “set time”

I have my hair wax/creme pretty much ready to go. The only thing I want to do is increase how long it takes before the product “sets” in the hair. Typically there is 10-15 seconds of set time where you can work the product in and style before the hold takes effect, but mine is almost immediate.

I was looking at adding Denatured Alcohol because of the fast evaporation time, but am not excited about it because it could cause drying in the scalp.

I have yet to put the essential oils in it for fragrance, which I know also evaporate quickly. Not sure that would do the trick though.

    Any other suggestions?

There is no science-based evidence that alcohol will cause drying on the scalp.

But you could also add more water to the system which would increase set time.
