  • Green Tea Extract discoloring

I make a 10% Lactic Acid gel where I add 0.25% Green tea powdered extract. The serum is turning from light brown to dark brown.
I love green tea in my products. Is there any solution?
    Please help!

This is to be expected. Green tea acts as an indicator.

I have previously used a powdered extract of purified green tea EGCG, which turns brown over time as well. The only thing that mitigated this was sodium metabisulfite and low pH. I was worried about the irritation potential of the sodium metabisulfite, so it was never fleshed out into a product.

Now I understand why many companies use very tiny % of green tea in their products. I wanted to be different but now need to find better soothing antioxidants.
