I am formulating an anhydrous scalp product. At first it was going to be strait oil, but I dont believe this is very pleasurable for the customer. I want to thicken it a bit with some occlusives. I was thinking about adding just enough shea or cocoa butter and possible a small amount of beeswax (but I’m not sure it’s necessary if I use an emulsifying wax) I will also add an antioxidant, but would an emulsifier be recommended here?

I dont mind adding a preservative, but if i can keep it simple without one I’d rather do that. Adding water may make it more hydrating though, so I go back and forth on the idea.
