  Can I use  lactic acid to adjust pH for facewash?

  Now I use citric acid to make pH lower. Below 7.

  Be aware that : 
  -pKa of both acids are different. 
  -Citric acid is also a weak chelating agent. 
  -Lactic acid has some safety concerns (see the CIR report), in particular related with sun exposition
