    Hello,

I have a shampoo formula (Coco-Glucoside, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate), which leaves nice, clean and kinda smooth hair after you dry them. Problem is feeling of rough hair when washing. Is there anything, that could help with this issue? I can’t use any silicon, polyquarternum or cationic guar.
Do you think that chelating agent, glycerine, or some pressed oil could help? Smoothing agent I use is PCA Glyceryl Oleate (at 1.2%).
But I think PCA GO doesn’t like Coco-Glucoside, because after about 2 months a thin layer of transparent liquid begins to separate on the surface. Is it possible? And how to prevent it?

    Thank you in advance 🙂

In my opinion, you have too many restrictions. You are effectively restricting all of the ingredients that will help you achieve your goal. Glycerin is relatively useless in rinse-off products, but I have heard it can change the feeling upon application, though I’m not completely sure about that. Hopefully someone else can chime in. Good luck!

As @Fedaro mentioned, you’re leaving out the best ingredients for your purpose. You could alternatively add Lamesoft PO 65, PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate or a small amount of a cationic surfactant (there are ratios and types of cationics that can be added without trouble).

Have you tried hydroxyethylcellulose or tragacanth gum? Apart from some conditioning effects, they can help smoothen the shampoo experience!
