What is the usual percentage of oils when i use Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate in a spray lotion, should I consider non-polar oils more, I will not use any other stabilizer except xanthan gum for your reference…
Purpose of this lotion is cost effective Basic body Lotion to be used with any active for multiple products,

It depends on how much oil do you like. Start from 10%.

as a general formula I have no specific percentage of oils, so If i start with 10% oils should I add 3% of the emulsifier? should I consider non-polar oils more?
Usually I do not calculate HLP and I do an empirical emulsifier percentages in my formulas

        They don’t matter that much.

More emulsifier and more oil will give higher viscosity.

Start with 10% oil+ 3% emulsifier and see if you like it.

what if the emulsifier was more than enough in lotion is this can affect performance or stability?

Having more emulsifier than needed is why the whole cosmetic emulsions are all about (you just need to make the calculations). Now, that’s actually good since the excess emulsifier makes the emulsion interface thicker and more stable. So, the high viscosity and better stability is actually due to the excess emulsifier (plus structuring agents, of course). What would be more interesting to know is how much is too much emulsifier. What’s your ratio of emulsifier to structuring agents (like fatty alcohols, glyceryl stearate, etc.)?

Actually I have not add any structuring agents here because the product is emulsion spray so I need low viscosity emulsion but stable. I thought high emulsifier will dehydrate skin more and may affect skin oils,

In Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate, glyceryl stearate is a structuring agent and PEG-100 stearate is the emulsifier. Can you mention how much of emulsifier you are using or cosider as being too much? Keep in mind that when applied on the skin, it’s not the emulsifier alone that deposits but as being part of a structure.
