    Hi,

I have seen many rinse out products preserved only with sodium benzoate at 0,5 but I don’t know the reasoning behind. If somebody were to educate me, I would appreciate it.

there is info about surfactants capacity to inhibit fungi growth, but I have been able to figure out how surfactants inhibit bacteria growth.

Benzoate is more effective in combination with surfactants and can be enough to pass USP 51. It is not enough to protect in use.
