    Hey!

    Can anyone suggest a good and strong emulsifier which should be salt tolerant.

    I’m using zinc pca, as a salt and having difficulty to stabilize the cream formulation. it’s a product for oily skin moisturizer.

    As is about the answer for any emulsifier question, the ‘165’ type is always hard to beat (Glyceryl stearate and PEG 100 Stearate). Might be something to it being the world’s most widely used emulsifier. 😉 Thicken with some fatty alcohols…gel the water a kiss with a gum, and maybe .25% SSG (anionic aspect) to make sure it is bulletproof. BINGO….you’re done.

    Probably would have been helpful….had you listed your last emulsifier package….and supporting cast member….you know…. fatty alcohols….gums….waxy esters….etc. Hard for us to put a puzzle together in the dark.

    Yeah, agree with Grail. You non-ionic emulsifier.

    I also like Polawax GP200 (Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG-20 Stearate). It tolerates high and low pH. Builds nice viscosity.

    Hey! For a good and strong emulsifier that is salt-tolerant, I recommend using polysorbate 80 or ceteareth-20. Both of these emulsifiers can help stabilize your cream formulation even in the presence of salts like zinc PCA. Polysorbate 80 is particularly effective at maintaining stability and enhancing the texture of the moisturizer. Additionally, consider adding a small amount of xanthan gum or carbomer to further improve the viscosity and stability of your formulation. These ingredients are suitable for oily skin products and will help achieve a smooth, well-emulsified cream.
