2 in 1 shampoo
I am trying to make a 2 in 1 shampoo using the following ingredients:
polyquaternium 10, sodium coco sulphate, sodium cocoamphoacetate, polysuga mulse D9 from colonial chemical, citric acid, edta, preservative, plantasense olive LD, essential oil.
The main problem is that it leaves the hair really dry. Any suggestion on what I’m doing wrong?

Not a chemists, but usually I see next answer pattern on the forum: anionic surfactant, amphoteric surfactant, quats and silicone (dimethicone or amodimethicone).

I agree with @fareloz . You’re missing lubricants in your formula (silicones performance on hair can’t be matched, not sure how much of your Plantasense would be able to be deposited, compared to a medium-high MW dimethicone, for instance). What’s the product you want to match in terms of performance?

plantasense was supposed to be a natural alternative to silicone, but it seems that is washed away during the use. I will try with silicones. but how can I add them in the shampoo formula? Can I obtain a clear formula with silicones?

Hehehe…..there are hundreds of ‘natural silicone replacements’ on the market.

For a clear shampoo, you could use PEG-12 dimethicone, or some microemulsions.

what percentage silicones are used in the formula?

It dependa on what you like. You can start with 1%.
