If cost were not a limiting factor what combo of Cationic conditioning ingredients would you use?

If cost were not a limiting factor, what combination of Cationic conditioning ingredients (surfactants, polymers) would you prefer to use for a hair conditioner formula that works for most hair types? Any silicone preferences too? There are so many options for Cationic conditioning agents…and lots to consider with build up, ingredient competition/compatibility etc. As a newbie I’d love to hear your input as seasoned veterans. Thank you!

For thin hair SPDMA+fatty alcohol

For thick hair BTMS+fatty alcohol

Typing mistake.
I prefer behentrimonium chloride, not BTMS.

BTMS has 75% fatty alcohol. I use less.

There are few “grades” of BTMS. 25 ; 50 ; 75%. You can choose - I am using 50% and it works just fine

BTMS 25 has that amount of fatty alcohol to favor formation of a lamellar network. The best (molar) ratio between emulsifier/fatty alcohol for this model is between 1:4 and 1:6. But maybe you use less fatty alcohol to have a more liquid emulsion.

Yes i use BTMC+FA 1:2 weight ratio. It is like 1:3.2 molar ratio.

I dont like too much fatty alcohol in hair conditioner.

I have formulated conditioners with Crodazoquat MCC and or Crodasozoft DBQ. And Crodasosoft CSO will provide conditioning and shine properties. And you could add cetearyl alcohol as thickener.
Behetrimonium chloride is also a great cationic conditioner with thickening properties.
