  • Gotta give a ‘shout out’ to the Thai place.

I placed an order on Nov 23rd, and received it on November 29th.  What makes this even more amazing, I live in Hawaii, which is smothered in bureaucracy and corruption going back to World War II.  This means the plane that flew my package from Thailand, flew over Hawaii on the way to California (might have waved), then was resorted….sent back to Oahu, and then to my Island….all in 6 days…which included some holidays and a weekend.

I often don’t get packages this quick from the mainland.

For those of you not familiar with the ‘Thai Place’, that is my reference to: My skin recipes dot com.

    Oil Blender™ (Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate) (myskinrecipes.com)

A virtual smorgasbord of almost impossible to find ingredients.  As many fear buying ingredients outside of the US, or EU, or down under, this place has time after time shown they are selling quality products with excellent customer service.

    I actually bought

    Polymethylsilsesquioxane 4.5microns

Which I had been buying in the US…but even with shipping, I was able to save 33%.

There are some nuances to buying here…. shipping being the biggie.  1-500 grams is exactly the same cost.  So, it will not be a very cost-effective option for an order that only weighs 20 grams, if you live outside of Thailand.  Not sure where there next shipping breaks are….so check before you complete your order.

They also do custom packaging…they will package your ingredient into the amount you want.  So, since the most efficient shipping is at 500gm….you guessed it… I ordered 500 gm of polymeth.

    Aloha!

Good service and prices…. deserves recognition.

I like this website even though i’ve never purchased from them, because they carry all these obscure ingredients, which is exactly what i like, they just happen to not carry the same obscure ingredients i am constantly searching for…but one day i’m sure i’ll find a match there.

what else have you gotten from them? and what is polymethylsilsesquioxane used for?

and what is polymethylsilsesquioxane used for?

It is a haptic enhancer.  I use it in deodorant….and well… pretty much everything.  Everything feels better with it.

In the end did you buy the ceramides from there?

No… I still had some from another vendor (plus a few samples).  To be honest…it (ceramides) have NOT given me any ‘Ah Hah’ moments…in any format I have put it in.

Something I put in my (currently on the shelf) over the top eye cream…. was really impressive.  But there were so many new things…I can’t put my finger on it.  I am wondering if it was not the PGA?

It’s more of a repair ingredient, so i’m not surprised that it hasn’t given you any “ah hah” moments.

Luckily my colleague is going back to her parent’s house in thailand next week, i can ask her to bring back my order  :D

I come at things from so many angles…it is hard for me to celebrate a single ingredient.

There are several grades….the one I got…has the most absorbing abilities.  Various micron…will give different haptics.  I am more about absorption/matte finish, hence my choice.

Yes…I would like to know where the shipping tiers are…above 500 grams, please post.

Me personally, can’t afford the shipping costs. Some time ago I placed a test order, and when I got the shipping prise I almost got a hearth attack. The price was far beyond the cost of the overall order, so I cancelled it. If that matters I live in Bulgaria.

Yes, if you do not maximize their Shipping ‘tiers’ it will be expensive.  A 1 gram package and 500 gram package ship for the same rate.  So, you have to maximize the shipping tier, then they become quite viable.

I can’t remember properly, but when ngarayeva001mentioned the site for the first time, I made a test purchase. I choose some esters and an emulsifier, if I remember the gross weight was about 2.5 kilograms, and the shipping was something about 80 euro, but the actual cost for the ingredients was about 30 euro. For example I usually buy ingredients from Greece with a shipping about 5 euro, and from Germany for about 6-7 euro. As you can see the difference is brutal, also I can live perfectly without the exotic ingredients from Thailand.

    So … I placed a quotation request for 1.52 kg …
My total cost for products is 2995 THB (134 NZD)
Freight cost is 2300 THB (103 NZD)
Plus 4% Credit card transaction and it makes 5506.80 THB (250-ish NZD).

I must say it is a bit expensive now. But again, it’s 1.5kg, from Thailand, good and quick freight … I will probably go ahead (actually will add some of the polymethylsilsesquioxane :D )

Did you ask them…where the freight windows are?

You might be able to add quite a bit….or at least up to 2Kg….for the same freight cost.  The have freight windows….not by the specific weight of your package.

Yeah, I will do that .. I did change my weights a bit and added some other stuff so once they confirm price, I will ask how does it work with them.

The first time I ordered (around 1.5kg too) I asked them if they could improve on the freight amount and they came back with a quote that was a bit lower (not much but anyway). For me the ingredients I buy from them I can’t source in Australia and if I can they ae far more expensive than what I get from Thailand including freight, paypal and packing costs.
