This is a white pear shampoo, when i add Piroctone Olamine to this formula it turns the white pearlized color to yellow even with %0.05 Piroctone Olamine.
    What is the cause?
Is there any way to prevent this?

    Formula in active
    SLES   %9
    CAPB  %3
    EGDS  %1
    EDTA  %0.2
    Guar gum %0.5
    PQ10  %0.3
    Lavender eo  %0.3
    Glyceryl Caprylate  %1
    Caprylhydroxamic acid %0.1
    Water
    NACL
    pH 5-5.5

    Hi.
The yellow color issue comes from complex formation of Piroctone Olamine and Ferric (only 1ppm of Ferric can result in this discolouration). Im not sure whether the complex affect antibacterial effect of Piroctone Olamine or not.

I used 6% SLES, 6% CAPB and add 0.5% Piroctone Olamine and easily found this issue. So I think it is difficult to escape from this discolouration.

Also, did you find foamability of your fomula become worse after adding Piroctone Olamine?

@MetalizeMerz thanks for sharing your thoughts.
No i haven’t noticed any difference in foam.
Is what is this %0.2 EDTA doing?
Should i increase it to reduce the iron availability?
