I am trying to make a formula look like L’Oreal mythic oil

    Ingredient Analysis:

Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol – Non Soluble silicones, C12-15 alkyl benzoate – Emollient Ester , Argania spinosa oil – Argan Oil , Oryza sativa bran oil – Rice Bran Oil , Benzyl alcohol – Preservative , Limonene, Hexyl cinnamal, Coumarin, Linalool, Butylphenyl methylpropional, Hydroxycitronellal, Amyl cinnamal, Geraniol, Alpha-isomethyl ionone, Isoeugenol, Benzyl benzoate, Cinnamyl alcohol, Citronellol – Fragrances

I noticed the the formula based on CBS cyclopentasiloxane and light weight Silicone oil ( silicone 300 ) .

I know that the other ingredients is a commercial claiming,

But i am asking what type of fragrances could be dissolved with this two ingredients ( Cbs and silicone oil )  because essential oils

    don’t mixed with silicones .?

What is C12-15 alkyl benzoate ? Used for what ?

How the formula looks as  a very watery hair spray ?

    Thanks Legends

Dimethiconol is very solid and almost doesn’t flow. For this reason in most cases it is supplied mixed with cyclopentasiloxane. Essential oils can be mixed into that solution but at a very tiny amount. Basically what is going on with this product, they took ready dimethiconol in cyclo blend, mixed essential oils with a little bit of alkyl benzoate to reduce cloudiness and added to silicones. Alkyl here helps essential oils to blend into silicones. They probably added more pure cyclopentasiloxane because those blends are rather concentrated and thick (that’s why it’s sprayable).

Many Thanks Dear ngarayeva001 for your advice ,
Could you recomend the percentage of CBS added to Silicone . ?
What is the alkyl benzoat % should i use ? is this process needs any specialized mixer or blender ?.
if i use the majority of formula consist of Cyclopentasiloxane , is there any problem ?
thanks for your support , you look a very experienced in this field .

What do you mean by CBS? You want the majority of your product to be cyclopentasiloxane because it acts like water (evaporates) unlike other silicones that will make product too heavy if too much added. The fact your benchmark is sprayable tells me it’s 80%+ cyclopentasiloxane. I use 5% of Alkyl Benzoate for 0.5% of essential oil, but play with %. You might end up adding less. Use 5% as a benchmark because I am using it in a very similar formula and it helps to achieve high transparency.
