Polidocanol
Posted by belassi on May 29, 2019 at 3:22 pmI’m looking to formulate a shampoo containing polidocanol; does anyone know where I could obtain small quantities?

Here in Switzerland, you can get PhEur quality at every pharmacy. At least, they can easily organise it (50g, 250g or 500g).

I can’t find it anywhere! Not even on Alibaba.com — my usual Chinese supplier doesn’t have it — can anyone recommend alternates in China? India? Korea?

Maybe try searching under a synonym? Macrogoli 9 aether laurilicus (or laurilicum) and macrogol-6-laurylether

Thanks for the help. No luck. I have asked my son to try the pharmacies in Belgium.

Hi belassi,
This is because it is a drug, I doubt you can use it in formulas

Hi belassi
I actually found a number of suppliers, I can probably send it to you.
Please inbox me

Ain’t polidecanol the same as Laureth- , aka ethoxylated lauryl alcohol?
https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/PolidocanolIf it is, then you can contact Oxiteno (they have an office in Mexico), or Sasol about their Marlipal product range.
Lots of generic ethoxylated lauryl alcohol suppliers too.
