Bis-Diglceryl Polyacyladipate-2 Substitute (Help needed!)
Hi Guys!
I am trying to formulate my own type of hair styling product. A matte creamy styling wax product. However, i am faced with the issue of finding a substitute of this emollient. As the retail site that i am getting my ingredients doesn’t stock up on this emollient. They recommended me with lanolin but i know that, there will be a lanolin smell and i doesn’t want it on my products and the natural color of lanolin may affect my end product.
Thus, i would like to ask if any kind soul are able to help me out to find a closest suitable substitute of it.

I believe BDP-2 was designed to mimic lanolin so as far as substitutes, you probably want to compare what you can substitute lanolin for…
Before you rule lanolin out though, consider how much you’ll be using in a matte styling product. Lanolin USP won’t impart a smell and at the concentration you’ll likely be using, wont get a chance to impart color either. (They have clear (clearer than petroleum) lanolin btw but it’s cost prohibitive for most applications.)

Thanks for your input. We will certainly try out with lanolin just that we are trying to see if there’s any other ways to work around it. But still, we appreciate your input.

Just did a quick search and found Pelemol VL by Pheonix Chemical (INCI: Dimer Dilinoleyl Dimer Dilinoleate (and) Triisostearin), maybe you can give that a try if you can find it.
