Are you struggling to find a good homogeniser or shear mixer? my research so far..
So here’s my research so far…
the smaller the motor the more RPM (spins per minute)..
however, when analysing for large batches an example is of a:
Silverson GX20 Batch homogeniser, powered by a 15kw 2900 rpm motor.whereas a small lab homogeniser thats 0.75kw can run upto 8000 rpm
Suitable liter batches (getting mixed) / Kw motor needed
30-200 / 2.2
80-500 / 3
100-1000 / 5.5
300-1500 / 11
500-2000 / 15
2000-5000 / 22
4000-10000 / 37
5000-15000 / 45so you’d buy the suitable motor, and of course you will need a homogeniser head - you will then need to connect the motor with the head using a ‘motor coupler’ - there are many youtube tutorials to this …
1) the only thing thats missing from this research is how to control the motor’s RPM ? through one of these:
