Has anyone here used Polyurethane-14 AMP Acrylates Copolymer as a fixative in hair products?

I would like to compare to some of the other fixatives I have used, however, my distributor does not have distribution rights for AkzoNobel line in my state of California.

I mainly use Lubrizol fixatives and also use PVP/VA 73w, but many of those harden or do not provide the desired hold our clients are looking for.

From the products I have personally sampled using Poly-14, they provide a firm yet flexable hold, so they do not harden as they dry. That is what I am looking for in my newest formulations. Firm fast setup without hardening.

Lubrizol’s G-100 has been the best polymer I have used for such qualities, however, it is not a strong holding fixative.

So just want to know if the Poly-14 would be worth persuing in anyone’s opinion that has used it.

I like using the polyurethanes, dirtnap, as they provide good hold with a more natural bounce and feel to the hair. No “crunch” and certainly no flaking. These copolymers also require little plasticizing, unlike the PVP and the alkyl-modified acrylate-type fixatives, so there is more degree of freedom in formulation. Less plasticizing, harder hold. Hope this is useful.
