  Too thick to understand!!

  Hi chemists

  I am working on a hair clay but have an issue with thickness.

  On cool down phase from 80c the formula is fine until it gets to 55c and then becomes too thick to mix making it difficult to add preservative and fragrance. However once cooled and in the jar as a final consistency, the product could do with being thicker (if that makes sense).
  So how do I solve this please?
  If I add more water this then affects the final consistency (too thin),
  or should one of the ingredients below be replaced and with what?

  Castor Seed Oil
  Hydrogenated Castor Oil
  Carnauba Wax

  Candelilla wax

  PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate

  Kaolin

  Vegetable glycerin

  cetyl alcohol

  stearic acid

  Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin

  Essential oil blend

  Thickness depends on percentages. Nobody would be able to comment on this without %

  @Spinr almost preservative and perfume must add at 60 degree C or lower temperature so may it will be helpfull to add your perfume and preservative at 60 degree C.
  becarefull  about essential oil cause may it is thermosensible and even 60 degree C will be bad choice you will be better do reaserch about your essential oil and its resistance versus temperature.
