    Hello!

I’m an optometrist by trade, and have a passion for art. I was wondering if there are any products out there that can have a long lasting effect with make-up such as tanning products? If not, anyone interested in helping me create something? Im looking for facial applications such as cheek tints that can last upto a week, and bronzers (facial contours) and even eyeshadows (I can see how this may flag a nono in the eye industry).
Overall, I think it would work wonders for busy moms or someone like myself who hates spending time to apply makeup every morning!

The ingredient is Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). It chemically reacts with proteins in the outer layers of the skin and will last until the skin naturally wears off.  A few days at most.  Orange/brown is pretty much your only choice of color.

    Thank you Perry.

Any other ways that you suggest to get what Im looking for? Besides semi-permanent tattoo type of make-up?

None that would be legal in the US, really, if you’re looking for a DHA-type effect.

When I first started my career, I came up with a very long lasting eyeshadow. Actually, it was much too long-lasting - you practically needed brillo to get it off your skin - and that was the problem. Hardly any consumers want to put any color on their skin that won’t come back off easily, preferably with soap and water - and once you make a product that comes off easily, you’ve destroyed the very long-lasting effect you were looking for.
Some companies have gotten around this by making products that will only come off with a special remover - this has not gone over well.
