    Hello All!

Some of you may remember from my LOI discussion that I started playing around with a conditioning shampoo formula. It was initially an experiment, but it turns out that my test rabbit, a.k.a my husband, ended up liking the formula. It’s not apart of any of my projects at the moment, just a formula to have in my pocket.
I did develop a question about activity levels after reading a discussion on this forum. Typically I formulate my shampoo/bodywash formulas to be between 20-35% active with my primary surfactants making up the bulk of that. Since this particular formula is a pealized conditioning shampoo the active material is 35%. Is 20-35% active material good for a shampoo or are there more specific rules for this? Can a formula go above 40% actives?
I understand that shampoo and bodywash formulas are an art form and are their own unique science. I’d really like to learn as much as I can. I have read up quite a bit on formulating shampoo from Pilot Chemical Company and Happi.com.
Are there any other resources available for shampoo formulation?
