    Hello Everyone,

We are E-trade company in Turkey. We are selling cosmetic products in internet.  We arealready working with some producers and I cannot say we are very happy to work with the formulas they developed for us (according to our customers feedbacks). So we need better products.

We are looking for a person or company, who can develop for us necessary formulas. We are planing to release depilatory set (hair removal spray) and we need formula for this.

    Here there are our requests:

    - Final product should smell good during use. Formula should be without sulphur (it smells awful)
    - Raw material should be from Europa (we can import from USA or other country but it takes too much time and costing money)
    - Can you use some new materials against conventional methods? (like nano material liposome or something else)
    - Can we make one product for Face, Legs and Bikini lines (I mean all in one) or should be separate products?

    Hair Removal:
Should be liquid, should be effective and in 3 or 5 min all hair should be removed from skin. Hair should be removed from under skin.

    Hair Reduction + Peeling :
It will be used after Hair Removal and it will help to lessen hair growth, if it is possible  it will stop hair growth at all and should give silky effect to skin.

We do not usually outsource such a job and we do not have any experience in creating formulas. Here there are some of our concerns and questions:

    - Can we find ready formula for this product?
    - How long it will take to make formula?
    - What will be the price for this service more or less?
    - Do we have to send any upfront payment or what % it should be?
    - How can we be sure the final product will be like how we want?

Thank you for your answer & advice

as I see it, there are two big practical problems here:

    1. thioglycolate is the only chemical depilatory which is a) effective in the way you want, and b) legal to use; unfortunately, it smells of sulphur and rotten eggs

you can mask the worst of the smell with the right perfume, but you can’t eliminate it altogether

    2. since Turkey’s cosmetics legislation is in line with that of the EU, skin peels would be considered borderline medicines, as they have a physiological effect as well as a cosmetic effect

I would strongly suggest you seek legal advice about what you can and can’t claim on such a product, and whether or not you can actually sell them for home use; all the documents I’ve seen so far have indicated they’re meant for professional use only

    Hi Kerem,

I have developed some of these products in the past.
    Similar to the benchmark VEET.
You can drop me an Email. (I am based in Europe)

@Bill_Toge. Thank you for your answer

You didn’t give any good news :(

Concerning Turkish legislation, you are totally right and still there are a lot of such products in Turkey. We have legal consultant about product  formulas and producer company has good knowledge about this.

But Turkish rules are not as strict as EU, a little bit more flexible.

Our problem is that we want to sell something with new formula or effect.

Depilatory product has the same effect like shaving. Is it possible to make a better product?

@David I will send an email to you.

@kbasali the only way you can totally achieve the effect you want is by physical removal of the hair, e.g. with waxes and/or an epilator; chemical depilatories will help remove the hair, but they won’t do the whole job on their own
