Excellent general eczema, anti itch etc cream according to reviews and my own experience, but looking at the ingredient listing on the web and on the product, it seems a little off - ascorbic acid the second most prevalent one and water the second last?!

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice , Ascorbic Acid , Ascorbyl Palmitate , Canola Oil , Cetyl Alcohol , Cholecalciferol , Citric Acid , Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Peel Oil , Citrus Grandis Peel Oil , Citrus Tangerina Peel Oil , Diazolidinyl Urea , Glycerin , Glyceryl Stearate SE , Glycine , Hydroxytyrosol , L Proline , L Taurine , Methylparaben , Methylsulfonylmethane , N Acetyl L Cysteine , Niacinamide , Olea Europaea Fruit Oil , PEG 8 , PEG 100 Stearate , Propylene Glycol , Propylparaben , Pyridoxine HCl , Retinyl Palmitate , Stearic Acid , Stearyl Alcohol , Tetrasodium EDTA , Tocopherol , Triethanolamine , Vanillin , Water , Zea Mays Oil

What do you guys think is happening here? And why do you think it’s one of the best reviewed creams on the market?

This is only OK in the US if it’s a monograph OTC drug product.

Amazon has a listing indicating that this is a monograph OTC drug product listing Dimethicone at 1.5% as their active ingredient.

Wow I did not know that. In any case, interesting formula and arguable THE best reviewed skin treatment product on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Medline-Remedy-Olivamine-Repair-Cream/dp/B004GC2LLE

The alphabetical order makes it harder to know what’s doing something though. What would a stripped down version look like? Emulsifier + thickener + preservative + the following

    Ascorbic Acid
    Ascorbyl Palmitate
    Cholecalciferol - Vitamin D3
    Citric Acid
    Citrus Grandis Peel Oil
    Glycerin
    Glycine
    Hydroxytyrosol - Olive derived antioxidant?
L Proline - Seems to be part of a amino acid ++ blend.
    L Taurine
    Methylsulfonylmethane
    N Acetyl L Cysteine
    Niacinamide

    Propylene Glycol
    Pyridoxine HCl
    Retinyl Palmitate
    Tocopherol
    Vanillin
    Water

So it uses Olivamine, a prop. blend that the pinnacle olivamine supplement can tell us a little about:
