  • Will the US get new cosmetic regulations?

    A bill has been proposed.

I doubt it will go anywhere but it could happen.  It’s unlikely that this will satisfy the chemical fearmonger groups however, as they still complain about parabens despite the fact that they’ve been declared safe by the independent scientific agency that regulates things in the EU.

What do you think?  Does the FDA need an overhaul for the cosmetic industry?  What should be different?

Under the new proposal, companies will be required to report “serious” adverse health effects they hear about from consumers — reactions to products that result in death, disfigurement or hospitalization, for example — within 15 business days. Companies must report all nonserious events — like rashes — in an annual report.”

So would companies have to report when some idiot uses a thio based relaxer on NaOH permed hair?
