  • Using AHAs and BHAs in a Leave-On Treatment

    Hi All!

I’m working on a gel leave-on spot treatment with a base of water and hydroxyethylcellulose. I’m thinking 1.25% will be good to produce a thick gel that won’t run down the face (stick to wherever you place it) or maybe a little higher.

I want to use Glycolic and Lactic Acid for my AHAs and I have a water soluble Salicylic Acid I want to use as well. Does anyone have a good idea of the highest percentage load of these acids I can use that don’t need to be treated as a mask or wash off product? I think I’ll use 1% salicylic but the others I am not sure.
