(URGENT) Shampoo smell really bad after remove Peg-40 and change to Lactic Acid
Please help me, after i remove PEG-40 HCO, nd change Citric Acid to Lactic Acid. the smell is good while mixing, but after 1-3 days the scent from fragrance completely gone, and smell like chemical. how can i save the batch? or i cannot save it?

hi did anything else change over the 3 days? ph? Appearance?

It’s hard to tell. I would guess it might be fragrance oxidation (0.1 Tocopherol in a cleanser, not enough) or contamination (if you’re using only DMDM hydantoin, your falling short, unless it’s Glydant Plus or similar, which comes with IPBC).

Try using some essential oil (if possible) to mask the base odor and it would be more stable compared to synthetic fragrance.
Do a stability test with and without lactic acid to make sure off odor is because of this specific swaping.
