Hard soaps/glycerin soaps are not my forte so I thought to ask… do those products go through the traditional heat, cool, light, etc stability tests?
Or to ask it better, what makes a good, stable hard soap and how do you test for it?

Yes absolutely put them through stability, if you’re doing any kind of large supply chain type distribution. Same way you do everything else. If it’s a soap made with vegetable oils (coconut, sunflower, etc.) you’ll want to add an antioxidant. I’ve found .02% rosemary oleoresin very effective in making an organic bar soap we produce hold up in stability, that was previously having oxidation issues. On glycerin soaps, you’ll want to put them through stability to be sure they don’t have melt/sweat/shrink issues. Be sure to have them packaged in the actual packaging they will be sold in.
