    Hi guys!

I just made a home made pomade and as the product cures, it’s forming a hole in the middle.

Does anybody ever face this kind of problem? Is it due to the temperature when pouring?

    Photo attached!

The ingredients are candelilla wax, hco peg 40, shea butter, carrier oil, and essential oil

Do you guys have any solution to this?

    Many thanks!

Yes, it’s due to the speed at which you cool the formula. Or maybe there is air trapped in it.  What are you using to mix it?

I am assuming that you are using high amounts of candelilla wax in your formula.

When you use a high amount of wax and not enough oils then you tend to create a harder, more brittle product which can break if poured too hot.

I would recommend trying to pour at a lower temperature or reducing the amount of candelilla wax used, or even both.
