  • pH changes after 3 months of stability

    Hello everyone,

I have a formulation of an alkaline APC spray which had the original pH as 10,41 and by the end of 3rd month stability at RT, 40C and 4C, the pH went down to 9,8. Is this a big drop in pH? Should I be worry about this? There is no sign of precipitation, however, the scent of Bergamout has slightly reduced at 40C. Other than this, I cannot see other big signs. I would love to hear your feedback.

    Thank you.

    Regards

    Hello @ survival race,

A drop from 10.4 → 9.8 over 3 months is minor and not concerning for an APC. The fragrance fade is expected at high temperature. As long as your formulation remains clear, homogeneous, and performs well, you’re in good shape.
