    Hi All,

I am formulating a basic shampoo and am would like to start with a cost effective preservative that is effective. I have Optiphen, Euxyl® PE 9010 or Euxyl® K712. The base formula uses Euxyl® K712 but i was concerned since the final ph would be the same as the highest range for Euxyl® K712. Also do you see any benefit to adding Polyquaternium 7 to this? Thanks!

Please speak in chemical names - not supplier terminology. Phenoxy/EHG with Benzoate and EDTA is reasonable. Why not use CMIT?

Many people do not realize….the chelate has the second most profound effect on preservation. They just view it as something that keeps the formula stable….it is MUCH MUCH more that.
