    Hello!

I went back to some liquid lipsticks I made 2-3 days ago and noticed that they had gone from a glossy, liquidy consistency to a more creamy, drier consistency. The ingredients I used are below. Should I be concerned or is this normal? I am slightly worried something may be wrong/they will continue to dry out!
    Ingredients for first formulation:
    Shea butter 22g
    Coconut oil 11g
    Grapeseed oil 8g
    Kaolin 3g
    Vitamin E 1 drop
    Titanium Dioxide   5g
    Pigments (micas)  3.5g
    Micronized titanium 1g
    dioxide
    Cornstarch      3g
    Beeswax     3.5g
    The second ingredients list:
    Shea butter 30g
    Coconut oil  5g
    Titanium dioxide 5g
    Micronized titanium dioxide 5g
    Kaolin 5g
    Pigments (micas) 10g
    Vitamin E 1 drop
Thanks in advance for any help!

I also remelted one of the second formulations and poured it back into a tube, and then waited for it to cool down, and it went back to the glossy, liquidy consistency.

Shea is known to have this property. Try a knockout test on the shea. You’ll need to sub something similar, another butter perhaps.

Alright, I’ll try cocoa butter and see if that helps.  Thank you so much!!

It isn’t uncommon for powders to absorb liquid over several days, either.

I was considering trying less of the powder ingredients because my first formulation was a little clumpy!  Thank you!!
