Hi, does fatty acid esters in particular Stearyl palmitate has HLB value and how is the HLB value calculated? Or better to call it required HLB?

It is the required HLB, correct. For stearyl palmitate the required HLB = 10. The required HLB values calculated for fatty esters and other builders is somewhat nebulous and to be taken as approximate.

Thank you for your reply. In this case, can the rHLB be calculated for stearyl palmitate using the Griffin’s method?
