Highest SCI % while maintaining clear formula
It’s my understanding that too much sodium cocoyl isethionate in a formula will cause it to become cloudy. I have successfully made a completely clear batch of shampoo with 5% SCI (as a co-surfactant) but I would like to increase this amount as much as possible. I am hoping you guys can spare me unnecessary test batches and tell me from your experience is there a certain % at which SCI will begin to diminish the clarity of a formula?
I know about it’s more water soluble cousin, sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate, but being a small time hobbyist I have been unable to source any of that.
