I tried water as suggested by the manufacturer. I tried cold water. I tried hot water. I tried glycerin. It just remains looking like baking soda particles..dispersed but not dissolved. Help!

firstly, what’s the tradename of the material you’re using?

(I ask as there are dozens if not hundreds of materials with this INCI name)

secondly, what purpose will it serve in your finished product?

    INCI: Acrylates/octylacrylamide copolymer

I am making a leave-on conditioning lotion for skin + hair that will be somewhat sweat resistant. I’m hoping the A-C will provide the sweat-resistant property I’m looking for. I am also using Polyglyceryl Oleate (polyglyceryl-4 oleate) in liquid form. I was told this will also help with sweat-proofing my product.

    Any thoughts are welcome!

And thanks for the speedy reply!

Why not just make a w/o emulsion???? Although with the amount of info that you have given it’s not possible to comment further.
