Hello just a simple question on what is the best broad spectrum preservatives for mists which is 95% water, with bug loving extracts such as aloe vera powder etc? Was thinking of using Chloramcetamide? But doesnt sound very nice. Cheers
cossci21 those two organic acids will likely not be sufficient and sodium benzoate has failed some patch tests we carried out. There's far more to preservation than just adding a preservative. You need a strategy. Handy checklist and reviews of 27 preservatives here -
Thanks everyone aware of pot sorbate and sodium benzoate, pot sorbate is a a irritant and need a low pH to be active so will definitely not use that. Aware of parabens an love them but not for our natural clients unfortunately. :-(
