Josh Rosebrook Hair Conditioner

Hi everyone,

I've bought a few hair products products from Josh Rosebrook out of curiosity. :) I haven't used them yet but they smell nice.
I looked at the ingredients list of one of hair conditioner but I couldn't see any emulsifiers or thickener there, how is that possible? Am I missing something here or this list is incomplete? Any thoughts, thanks

Ingredients list:

Aloe leaf juice, Glycerin, Shea Butter, Rapeseed oil, Water, Camellia oil, Olive oil, Meadow foam oil, coconut oil, guar gum, xanthum gum, hemp seed oil, rosemary extract, calendula extract, nettle extract, catnip extract, alfalfa extract, rose flower powder, flaxseed extract, dandelion extract, linden flower extract, peppermint extract, burdock root extract, horsetail extract, sage extract, chamomile extract, ginseng extract, oregano extract, thyme extract, lavender extract, goldenseal extract, cinnamon extract, cayenne extract, potassium sorbate, vinegar, may change fruit oil, rose flower oil, rosemary leaf oil, orange peel oil.

    Guar gum & xanthan gum are both thickeners. They aren't emulsifiers but they help stabilize the solution as well. This recipe is likely using a heavy % of the aloe + glycerin (because it's cheaper than using more oils & butters) so  combining that with trace amounts of oils, butters, and extracts probably means that the emulsifier isn't necessary. Ingredient lists don't need to list anything with a concentration of 1% by order.

    when you look at his conditioner, it looks definitely like other conditioners on the market that have emulsifiers.
    I am going to try what you said and if it works it would be a better option for my super fine hair. Thanks again :)

    @ ;LongXi , I've made the emulsion as you suggested, with glycrin, gum, butter & oil and water and there is no separation yet after3 days. 
    I have another question for you if you don't mind. What is the preservative in Josh Rosebrook conditioner ingredients list other than potassium sorbate?  It must be some of the extract, isn't it? Thanks

    @Zara I guess all : glycerin in high level, with thym extract and rosemary leaf oil can be very creative preservation system if it works.

    it's very likely incomplete; if it looks and behaves like a typical conditioner, there'll be a fatty alcohol of some kind giving it a cream-like consistency, and a quaternary ammonium salt acting as the conditioning agent (possibly as the emulsifier too)
    UK based formulation chemist. Strongest subjects: hair styling, hair bleaches, hair dyes (oxidative and non-oxidative) I know some stuff about: EU regulations, emulsions (O/W and W/O), toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoos, other toiletries

    @zara I would look at the rapeseed oil. It is probably their creative way of saying behentrimonium methosulphate if you know what I mean as this ingredient is derived from colza oil aka rapeseed oil.

    Bill_Toge I made something similar to that product but it is more translucent that white. That product has a beautiful white glossy silicon like consistency. Can someone like Josh Rosebrook fool their customers, I hope they are doing the right thing for the sake of their customers.

    GARIFUNA Yes, you are right, but behentrimonium methosulphate is made of 2 or 3 ingredients, it is so cheeky.
