Familiar Hotel Soap Fragrance

Hello All, I am rather new to this site, however, any help at all would be appreciated.  I am interested in recreating a fragrance/aroma that is similar to the fragrances of popular hotel soaps that you would find at hotels such as Hilton and other places (like the small traveler sized massage bar soaps and the facial bar soaps).  They all seem to have a similar main smell (at least in my opinion), but I can't figure out what chemical or essential oil it is.  I've been experimenting with things like linalool, citral, limonene, hexyl cinnamal, and geraniol, but I'm not getting anything similar to the smell I'm looking for.  Any ideas?  Thanks

It will be a fragrance oil. Messing around with essential oils won't help.

  • Belassi is correct.

For the amenity industry, most of the fragrances used are synthetic fragrance oils used to mimic the smells of essential oils.  The fact of the matter is the fragrance oils are cheaper than essential.
  • Thanks for the help.  Is there any particular fragrance oil/oils that would be good to experiment with?  Any fragrance oil recommendations or fragrance oil manufacturers/companies?
