  Calcium Citrate- to use or not to use

  So Calcium Citrate, 

  I was told on this forum not to use this as an abrasive in a toothpaste formula. Can someone please explain to me why? I see it being used in toothpaste products, really would like to understand please. Is it the hardness? Will it scrape enamel off?
