  • Broad-Spectrum Preservation for Sensitive Skin Formula with Jeecide Cap 7

I’m currently formulating a moisturizer using Jeecide CAP 7 with potassium sorbate. I’m considering adding sodium benzoate and sodium levulinate to achieve broader microbial coverage. I know that phenoxyethanol + benzyl alcohol are highly effective, and I use them in other products—but for this specific formulation, I’m aiming to explore alternative options suitable for very sensitive skin. I want to ensure my formula is robust and set up for success in a PET test. This would be in a bottle with a pump top. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Here is the simple basic formula I have been testing (pH is 4.7 but considering raising it a bit to 5):

    Phase A (Heated to 75C)

    Water 73%

    Glycerin 2%

    Sodium Phytate .2%

    Propanediol 3%

    Potassium Sorbate .3%

    Lactic Acid .2%

    Phase B (Heated to 75C)

    Montanov 202 4%

    Sepimax Zen .3%

    Cetyl Alcohol 2%

    Jojoba Oil 14%

Phase C (added at cool down)

    Jeecide Cap 7 1%
