Help with thickening below formulation

I need help with below formulation for color protection shampoo
Phase A
Deionized water      q.s
Sodium gluconate    0.2%
Gel Aqua                   2%
Glycerine                      3%

Phase B
Decyl glucoside          15%(8.25)
Sodium cocoyl glutamate 10% (3.9)
Coco betaine               10% (3.6)
Cmea     5%

Phase C
Amodimethicone         2%
Dimethiconal                2%
Silk protein
                    2%
Keratin                             2%
Preservative (euxyl k712)  1%
Fragrance oil                  0.3%
Citric acid                        0.1%

Is heating cmea with surfactants best way to dissolve it? I find it difficult getting the right viscosity. Any suggestions on bettering this formula for colored hair?

    Remove glycerin and decyl Glucoside.
Increase glutamate to %20 or more

Thank u . I shall try this but why do u suggest not using glycerine  n decyl for colored hair..moreover is this quantity of cmea good as foam booster too?

    They reduce the viscosity.
    I wouldn't use cmea more than %1or 2.
  • These surfactants are nearly impossible to thicken. Even crothix won’t work with cocoyl glutamate. Your only option is gums.
  • See if you can replace cocoyl glutamate with sodium lauroyl sarcosinate 20%. Increase coco betaine to 15%. Bring down CMEA to 1 or 2% (may not even be necessary).
Now I think you can thicken with salt and CDEA 1-2%.
Also check if silicones are affecting your viscosity.

I dont think glycerin is going to help with color protection or anything.

    What is Gel aqua?

I dont have access to sodium lauroyl sarcosinate..gel aqua is liquid carbomer..so with sodium cocoyl glutamate??Padmavathi said:
