Hi everyone,
ı am studying on a shower gel but my product does not have the consistency I want...
I use the following chemicals
SLES 15%
BETAİNE 5%
C12-13 Alkyl lactat 0,5%
Coco Glucoside 5%
I want to replace c12-13 alkyl lactate with a better thickener.
There should be a thickener suitable for cold process.
i chose one but i am not sure
ıt ınclude (aqua, sulfonic acid,C10-C18 alkane, sodium salts,N,N dimethyltetradecylamine N-oxide, alcohols, c12-13, ethoxylated, sulfates, sodium salts)- ı don't know the trading name in europe...
thanks for your suggestions and comments.

hi
Is betaine, as you mention above, CAPB or similar?
If the above %'s are the actives %'s (as e.g. CAPB is supplied as 30% active), then I'd be surprised that you cannot thicken it. There might be something else in your formulation that is reducing viscosity. I say this as a 3:1:1 ratio of SLES:CAPB:Coco Glucoside is very easy to thicken to gel-like levels with salt.
If the amounts you're specifying are as you've received it, then consider the concentration of the raw materials you're using, e.g. SLES at 28% active vs SLES at 70% active.
Active percentages of my raw materials are as follows:
SLES 70%
Cocoamidopropyl Betain 35%
amount of salt(the maximum usage)=2%
I used 1% essence and 1% aloe vera extract also.
