  • Does rate of cooling affect thickness of product?

Posted by Zeeshan on September 2, 2020 at 7:38 am

    Hi All,

We are making an Apricot Face & Body Scrub, but when making the main batch the product is not as thick as when I made the samples.

The samples are quite a thick cream and don’t flow out of the container but the main batch is not thick and flows easily.

Could the rate of cooling be causing this? It’s taking about 2 days for the main batch to cool to room temperature, whereas the samples cooled down quite fast.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. We can’t discard a 200 Kg batch  :/

    Thanks,

    Zeeshan

Yes, cooling rate can affect viscosity.
