BODY BUTTER BALM

How do i make my product stable at 45 degrees celcius without using synthetic waxes.

Shea butter = 70%
Coconut oil = 30%

NB: I dont intend including beeswax or carnuba wax as the source may be a synthetic derivative.

Thank you.

Given your preconditions, I don't see how you can be helped.

  • I agree with @Belassi .
Both shea butter and coconut oil have low melting points. Without adding something like wax, it will never remain stable at 45C.

Why would you be worried about the source being a synthetic derivative? In no way, shape or form would that make your formula unsafe.

  • I don't see how carnauba wax can have a synthetic derivative.

Now consider the implications even if your proposed formula could be stabilised at 45C.
    Coconut oil: smells unpleasant.
Shea butter: the smell is also offputting for many people.
Coconut oil has a comedogenic rating of 4.0 out of 5. (can cause acne by clogging pores)
