Color systems to ensure batches reproducibility

Hello
I would like to know what systems do you use to ensure that color remains the same between batches.
In my company we are looking for better systems. I know that there are already portable spectrofotometers, however I was looking for something more like color charts, namely Munsell pra pantone but more adequated for liquids and semi solids.
Thanks in advance

  • We use pantone colors as a general reference but the company I work for is skincare-based not color cosmetics. I think you would need to account for lighting and opacity  of the samples as well.
  • The downside to using color standards - even Pantone color books - is that they fade. Pantone books also discolor, and you can have three Pantone books and they all look very slightly different. You can also reference color standards, which should have regulated storage conditions and be replaced every six months or less, but even that has drawbacks. If you rely on color accuracy for your business and are serious about quality control with color, I highly recommend investing in a spectrophotometer.
